10 Years Ago.......

today I married my best friend and became the luckiest women alive! 10 years has passed so fast, but yet we have been through so much in the last 10 years; A couple states, a few homes, three kids, two loses, a few jobs, a couple of degrees, some heartache, some fights, but lots of love and laughter. He is my everything, my other half(my better half), the ying to my yang (or yang to my ying, I'm not sure which!). We are book ends, without one the other is useless and when paired together we can hold up anything. Here's to many more happy years with my love.

Oh, Happy Thanksgiving as well! Have a great weekend filled with pumpkin pie, family, some wine and of course L.O.V.E!!

Loving~Living~Laughing

I don't quite know where to begin. Our weekend was just what we needed. I am sad that I didn't get to see Amanda, but we are planning on meeting up with you and Bob in February! But other than that disappointment, our weekend was perfect. I can't think of any other word to use. It was perfect. We did nothing. I didn't even take one picture. Saturday we were having too much fun for me to think about it, and then Sunday we walked around the city and when I went to take a picture my batteries died. It doesn't matter, everything is in my head and heart and I still feel as though I am floating through my days. We talked, we laughed, we loved, we dreamt, we reminisced, and we really talked! Uninterrupted conversation. Something we rarely get. We talked about how unbelievably lucky and blessed we are to be married and be the best of friends, and how we are blessed with three healthy, smart, loving and happy kids. It was a weekend of reflecting and reconnecting and making new promises. I am filled with love and hope and peace and happiness. My cup runneth over.........

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Less than 24 hours from right now, we will be kid free and on our own for two days and a night!! I don't think I can contain my excitment. Especially because as I try to type this blog entry, Nolan insists on shutting the laptop closed. He is driving me batty! I do love my kids more than anything and I know I will miss them and be so excited to see them again, but right now I am excited to have some time for ourselves. I will be Kara for the time I am away. I will only have to wipe my own nose and ass, no laundry, no messes, no cooking three different dinners because of picky palates, no diapers, no whinning, no fighting and no crying. We will have time. Time to talk, to laugh, to love and to relax and melt into one another. I am feeling giddy as I type this. I will return Monday refreshed, rejuvinated, relaxed and ready to take on another week. Have a great weekend!

Reconnecting

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon Saturday with an old friend and her daughter. Mollie and Maggie travelled to Newark to visit me and my family after not seeing each other in almost 10 years. It was so nice to chat and catch up in one another's lives. It felt as though no time had passed. Yes things have changed, we have changed. It is to be expected;especially after having kids. But conversation flowed and we laughed and enjoyed each others company. It was fun seeing our kids play nicely together.

This weekend Tom and I are going to Cleveland to celebrate our anniversary and will hopefully be seeing another old friend from college whom I haven't seen in nearly 10 years either. It is strange that I haven't seen these two amazing women and mamas in 10 years, but suddenly within a 2 week period I get the chance to visit with them both. It is almost like the universe is telling me something. Don't let old friends fade away. Reconnect.

Halloween 2007

I know, I know Halloween was so yesterday! Well, two days ago to be exact, but our society and the advertisers have already moved on to the next holiday. Afterall, I did see the first Christmas commercials yesterday! Not ready yet!!!!! But anyway, I know I am a little behind but it isn't because I am lazy! I spent all day yesterday cleaning the house and doing the laundry that I have so easily ignored during the last week. Therefore, no blogging or Halloween update until today. The kids had a lot of fun, got lots of candy, etc., etc., you know the rest..... Enjoy the pictures!
